Vacancies at Alfred Sutton

We currently have three vacancies:

  • Early Years Practitioner, maternity cover
  • Learning Support Assistant
  • Midday Supervisor

The closing date for all three is 28 January 2019.

If you wish to apply for both the Learning Support Assistant and Midday Supervisor posts, please note that the hours for the Learning Support Assistant job would reduce to 20 hours per week (salary £8028 per year).  The total salary covering both jobs would be £11851 per year.

Temporary Early Years Practitioner required, maternity cover contract

Salary scale: RG4B (scale points 21-25) £20541 per annum, pro rata for part-time, term time only

(Actual salary is £14913 per annum)

We wish to appoint a temporary Early Years Practitioner to work Monday – Friday (08.30 – 15.30 hrs daily), term time only, in our friendly, supportive, multi-cultural school. This will be a maternity cover contract and ideally will start in late February 2019. Alfred Sutton Primary School is a 3 form entry primary school in East Reading, with a Nursery.

 

Ideal candidates will:

  • hold a relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification
  • have previous experience working with children, ideally in Early Years
  • be patient, energetic and enthusiastic
  • be able to demonstrate good written and oral skills, both in English and Maths

Learning Support Assistant, permanent position

25 hours 50 minutes per week, term time only

We wish to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work in our friendly, supportive, multi cultural school. This positions involves working with small groups of children or on a one-to-one basis, working under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo.

 

Ideal candidates will:

  • Have previous experience and enjoy working with children
  • Be patient, enthusiastic and understanding
  • Have some SEND knowledge and experience
  • Have good written and oral skills in both English and Maths (at least grade C GCSE)

Actual salary £3823 per annum

8 hours 20 minutes per week, 11.50-1.30pm daily, term time only

We wish to appoint a Midday Supervisor to work Monday – Friday (11.50am-1.30pm daily), term time only, in our friendly, supportive, multi-cultural school.

 

The main focus of the position is to ensure that our children are able to enjoy happy, safe and inclusive lunchtimes. This will entail working closely with other colleagues such as senior leaders, the site team and our medical administrator and line managing our team of Lunchtime Controllers.

 

Our successful candidate will:

  • be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, written and oral
  • have experience of working with children in a similar setting
  • have a current first aid certificate (although training can be arranged)
  • be patient, energetic and enthusiastic
  • be a good team player
